Last updated: July 21, 2026.
We take the privacy of our visitors seriously. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and who we share it with.
1. Data controller
The person responsible for the personal data collected on this site is José Rosas (ensupropialengua@gmail.com).
2. What information we collect
Comments: when you leave a comment on the blog, we collect the name (or pseudonym) and email address you provide.
Newsletter: if you subscribe to receive our newsletters, we store your name and email address in our own database, using the MailPoet tool. This is not shared with third parties for commercial purposes.
Site statistics: we use Burst Statistics, an analytics plugin hosted on our own server (not on third-party servers). In its default setup it does not place tracking cookies for regular visitors; it collects aggregate data such as approximate country, pages visited, and where you arrived from.
Google Analytics and Google Search Console: we use Google Site Kit’s tools to understand site traffic (pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type) and our presence in search results. This information is transmitted to and stored on Google’s servers in the United States. More information in Google’s privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy
Comment spam filter: we use Akismet to detect spam comments. The comment content, along with the commenter’s name, email, and IP address, is sent to Automattic (the company behind Akismet, based in the U.S.) for analysis. More information at automattic.com/privacy
3. How we use this information
To display and moderate comments; to send our newsletter to subscribers; to understand site traffic and improve its content; and to prevent comment spam.
4. Legal basis
For site statistics and the spam filter, we rely on our legitimate interest in maintaining and improving the site. For sending the newsletter, we ask for your explicit consent when you subscribe.
5. Who we share your information with
We do not share personal information with third parties, except with: Automattic (Akismet spam filter), Google (Analytics and Search Console via Site Kit), our hosting provider (Hostinger), or if required by law or a court order.
6. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data, to object to its processing, and to request a portable copy of it. To exercise these rights, write to us at ensupropialengua@gmail.com.
7. How long we keep your data
Comments are kept indefinitely unless the author requests their removal. Newsletter subscriber email addresses are kept until they unsubscribe. Google Analytics data is kept according to our Google account settings (typically 14 months).
8. Security
We apply reasonable technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, or loss.
9. Donations
The donations section provides information on how to support our work. We do not collect any financial information through this site: donations are made directly to the accounts indicated or through direct contact.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this same page.
As 2 Corinthians 4:2 (NIV) says: “Rather, we have renounced secret and shameful ways; we do not use deception, nor do we distort the word of God. On the contrary, by setting forth the truth plainly we commend ourselves to everyone’s conscience in the sight of God.”
